Planning – Final Locations

Location 1

What is needed: Int. lip-syncing shots.

Where is it being filmed: My house, against a white wall, not a busy background so the wall will be blank.

Purpose of shot: To capture the artist lip-syncing the lyrics to cut to within the video.

Actors needed: Artist – Megan Busby

Equipment needed: Camera, SD card, tripod, redheads, gels, dolly.

Mise en scene: Blank background of shots, carefully selected costume, the colour gel used in that particular shot.

Anything to consider/remember: Shot must be static and steady, for this use a tripod. Do a variety of shots where the gel is different so there is a choice when it comes to the edit.

How I am going to film this: Use a gel in the redhead to light the scene in a particular colour, make sure to use a variety of colours to make it interesting visually. For the shot using the dolly move is slowly and leave time to experiment when filming so as not to make errors and be aware of the risks (refer to risk assessment).

Types of shots needed: Close up, extreme close up, mid shot, mid shot into a close up.

Location 2

What is needed: Ext. lip-syncing shot.

Where is it being filmed: My house, garden, against leaves on wall, background should be just of leaves, nothing else seen.

Purpose of shot: To capture the artist lip-syncing in a different location from the previous to make it more interesting and relating in some way to the narrative shots.

Actors needed: Artist – Megan Busby

Equipment needed: Camera, SD card, tripod, redheads.

Mise en scene: Green plants as background, well lit and bright in colour.

Anything to consider/remember: Refer to risk assessment in using the red heads.

How am I going to film this: Using the red heads to lights up the artist and have the camera on the tri-pod for a steady shot.

Types of shots needed: Mid shot, centred, and mid shot, rule of thirds used.

Location 3

What is needed: Ext. performance narrative shots.

Where is it being filmed: Shoreditch, London. Highstreet and Nomadic Community Gardens.

Purpose of shot: To assist the narrative performance montage of a same sex relationship in relation to the songs lyrics and themes.

Actors needed: Actors – Bethan and Chloe

Equipment needed: Camera (no tripod as shots are natural and hand held).

Mise en scene: Busy streets of London, iconography of London, urban nature of city.

Anything to consider/remember: Refer to risk assessment for filming in London.

How am I going to film this: Hand held shots for natural element of this narrative, but keep the camera steady as too much movement can be risky.

Types of shots needed: Refer to shot sheets for key shots but also experiment, film the urban nature of London, consider composition to keep the shots interesting and unique.

Location 4

What is needed: Int. performance narrative shots.

Where is it being filmed: Old Street Underground Station and on Tube from Old Street to High Barnet (Northern Line)

Purpose of shot: To assist the narrative performance montage of a same sex relationship in relation to the songs lyrics and themes.

Actors needed: Actors – Bethan and Chloe

Equipment needed: Camera (no tripod as shots are natural and hand held).

Mise en scene: Underground colours, movement of tube.

Anything to consider/remember: Refer to risk assessment for filming in London and on Underground.

How am I going to film this: Hand held shots for natural element of this narrative, but keep the camera steady as too much movement can be risky.

Types of shots needed: Refer to shot sheets for key shots but also experiment, film the urban nature of London, consider composition to keep the shots interesting and unique.
